The Original Letters Of Our Alphabet Took A Long Journey Before Arriving At How They Look Today
We talk about our alphabet being “Latin characters,” but their origins are far older than Ancient Rome. The Romans learned their alphabet system from the Ancient Greeks, who learned it from the Phoenicians. Personally, I’m happy the characters have been simplified over the past 4,000 years, but it would be pretty fun to draw a little dancing man or a fish instead of an E or a D.
