Aartappel Gereg
Benodig
- 250g streaky spek
- 250ml mayonnaise
- 250ml blatjang (gewone of perske)
- 250ml kook water
- 8 – 10 medium aartappels
- 2 uie
- 1 pakkie wit uie sop poeier
Metode
- Skil en kook die aartappels tot gaar.
- Terwyl die aartappels kook, kap die uie fyn en die spek en braai in ‘n klein bietjie kook-olie in ‘n pan
- Sodra die aartappels gaar is, sny dit in skywe en plaas in oondvaste bak.
- Gooi die uie en spek bo-oor.
- Meng die mayonnaise, blatjang en sop poeier, meng deeglik!
- Voeg dan die kook water by (eers na die ander drie bestanddele goed gemeng is, anders gaan dit klonte vorm).
- Gooi die mengsel oor die aartapples
- Bak teen 180grade in ‘n voorverhitte oond tot goud-bruin in kleur.

Potato Dish
Needed
- 250g streaky bacon
- 250ml mayonnaise
- 250ml chutney (plain or peach)
- 250ml boiling water
- 8 – 10 medium potatoes
- 2 onions
- 1 packet of white onion soup powder
Method
- Peel and cook the potatoes until cooked.
- While the potatoes are cooking, finely chop the onions and the bacon and fry in a small amount of cooking oil in a pan
- Once the potatoes are cooked, cut them into slices and place in an ovenproof dish.
- Pour the onions and bacon on top.
- Mix the mayonnaise, chutney and soup powder, mix thoroughly!
- Then add the boiling water (only after the other three ingredients are well mixed, otherwise it will form lumps).
- Pour the mixture over the potatoes
- Bake at 180 degrees in a preheated oven until golden-brown in colour.
