Namakwalanders Sago Pudding
- 1 cup of sago soaked in 2 cups of water
- 1 liter of milk
- 5 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of vanilla essence
- A pinch of salt
- A few cubes of butter
- A little cinnamon for sifting over pudding
Method
- Soaked sago and salt in 2 cups of water for about 15 minutes.
- Cook the milk then add the sugar, vanilla and sago stirring continuesly to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- Allow to cool a bit before adding the eggs and give one last stir.
- Pour into a greased pyrex or baking tray and sift over a little cinnamon and put on the cubes of butter.
- Bake in a preheated oven 180 degC for about 30-35 minutes.
