Masala Chai

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tsp tea black tea leaves ( preferably assam tea)
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 crushed cardamom pods
  • Sweetener of choice
  • ¼ cup milk or more if you like

Recipe:

  1. In a mortar and pestle add in all the spices – ginger, cinnamon, clove, cardamom and crush them.
  2. Into a heating pot, add in the water, along with the crushed spices and let it come to a boil.
  3. Then, add in the tea powder and let it boil for 2 minutes.
  4. Add in the milk and simmer for 1-2 mins before turning off the heat.
