Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Chopped chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
- Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter and mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add milk while continuing to mash, until you achieve your desired consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped chives or parsley if desired.
- Serve warm.
