Orange Sauce

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • orange zest (from 1 orange)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add the minced garlic and minced ginger and cook for 2 – 3 minutes, until fragrant.
  3. Stir often to avoid burning.
  4. Add water, orange juice, orange zest (from 1 orange), brown sugar, maple syrup, rice vinegar, and soy sauce and heat for 3 minutes, stirring often.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch and water to form the slurry.
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce and whisk to thicken, around 3 – 5 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!
