Orange Butter Cake
Ingredients
- 125g butter
- 1 cup sifted castor sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp orange rind
- 2 cups sifted cake flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
Method
- Preheat your oven to 180 deg
- Grease and line a 1 x 20cm round baking tin
- Cream the butter and sugar until light in colour
- Beat in the eggs and rind
- Sift in the dry ingredients
- Add the milk and mix until smooth
- Bake for 35 minutes
Icing
- 125g butter
- 2 cups sifted icing sugar
- 1 tsp orange rind
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- Cream the butter
- Add the icing sugar, orange rind and vanilla essence.
- Beat until smooth and creamy
