Mince and Methi Herbs
Ingredients
- 1kg mince (lamb or beef)
- 1 large onion
- 1 large tomato
- 4 green chillies
- Methi herbs (about 12 bunches)(washed thoroughly)
- 1 tblsp ginger and garlic
- 1 sprig curry leaf
- Potatoes (optional)
- 1 tsp whole jeera
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 star anise
- 2 elachi
- 2 cloves
- 4 tsp chilli powder
- 4 tsp masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp dhania powder
- Oil
- Salt to taste
- Potatoes are optional
Method
- Heat your oil.
- Add all the whole spices
- Add your onion and allow to brown
- Add the Mince to braise a few minutes
- Add the spices and allow to cook for a few minutes
- Add your tomato, ginger and garlic, curry leaves.
- Once the tomato cooks completely, add the methi herbs.
- If you are using potatoes add this as well.
- Lower the heat and simmer until cooked.
- Check the salt, garnish and serve.
- I served ours with roti and sambals.
