Baklava Cheesecake
Ingredients:
For the crust:
- 1 cup finely ground walnuts
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the cheesecake:
- 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
For the baklava layer:
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the syrup:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
For garnish:
- Whole walnuts
- Fresh mint leaves
Instructions:
- Crust:
- Combine walnuts, crumbs, sugar, and butter.
- Press into a springform pan.
- Cheesecake:
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla.
- Add eggs.
- Pour over crust.
- Baklava Layer:
- Layer phyllo with butter, top with walnut mixture.
- Cut, place on cheesecake.
- Bake:
- At 325°F for 60 mins.
- Cool.
- Syrup:
- Boil honey, water, sugar, lemon.
- Cool slightly, pour over cheesecake.
- Garnish:
- Decorate with walnuts and mint.
