Melt In Your Mouth Cake
Ingredients:
For the cake:
- Flour: 150 g (1 ½ cup)
- Water: 100 ml (½ cup)
- Milk: 100 ml (½ cup)
- Butter: 80 g (1/3 cup)
- Eggs: 4
- Baking Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: ½ teaspoon
For the creamy filling:
- Milk: 500 ml
- Sugar: 150 g (1 ½ cup)
- Flour: 100 g (1 cup)
- Eggs: 2
- Butter: 180 g (3/4 cup)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a saucepan, heat water, milk, and butter until the butter melts.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Beat eggs and gradually add them to the dry ingredients, mixing well.
- Slowly pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the creamy filling.
- In a saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, and flour until smooth.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then gradually add them to the thickened milk mixture, stirring continuously.
- Cook for a few more minutes until the mixture reaches a pudding-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted and well combined.
- Let the creamy filling cool completely.
- Once the cake has cooled, slice it horizontally into two layers.
- Spread the creamy filling evenly over the bottom layer and place the other layer on top.
