Baked Brie with Fig Jam
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
- 1/4 cup fig jam
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons of chopped walnuts (optional)
- Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to make sure it’s big enough to wrap around your brie.
- Place the brie in the center of the pastry.
- Spread the fig jam on top of the brie, then sprinkle with walnuts if using.
- Fold the pastry over the brie, trimming any excess, and seal the edges.
- Flip the brie so the seam is on the bottom and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the top and sides of the pastry with beaten egg to give it a golden shine.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving with crackers or a sliced baguette.
