Hawaiian Roll French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 12 Hawaiian Rolls, sliced horizontally
  • Confectioners’ sugar (optional for serving)
  • Maple syrup (optional for serving)

Directions:

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a wide, deep bowl.
  2. Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat and brush with 1 Tbsp butter.
  3. Dip Hawaiian roll halves in the egg mixture until saturated, then shake off excess and place on the griddle.
  4. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove to a plate, keep warm, and continue with remaining rolls.
  6. Add more butter to the griddle as needed.
  7. Serve with a sprinkle of confectioners’ sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup, if desired.
