Hawaiian Roll French Toast
Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 12 Hawaiian Rolls, sliced horizontally
- Confectioners’ sugar (optional for serving)
- Maple syrup (optional for serving)
Directions:
- Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a wide, deep bowl.
- Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat and brush with 1 Tbsp butter.
- Dip Hawaiian roll halves in the egg mixture until saturated, then shake off excess and place on the griddle.
- Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove to a plate, keep warm, and continue with remaining rolls.
- Add more butter to the griddle as needed.
- Serve with a sprinkle of confectioners’ sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup, if desired.
