Classic Homemade Bread

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a sticky dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cover the loaf and let it rise again for 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
