Marmite-Aartappels

Bestanddele

  1. Aartappels, geskil en in halwes of kwarte gesny
  2. 2 groot houers dik room
  3. 2 – 3 eetlepels Marmite

Metode

  1. Plaas die aartapels in ‘n swaarboompot.
  2. Voeg die room by, en laat dit kookpunt bereik.
  3. Voeg die Marmite by sodra dit begin kook.
    Laat dit kook tot al die vog verdamp het, en die aartappels in die oorblywende olie begin braai.
  4. Draai die aartappels gereeld om sodat dit nie vasbrand nie.
  5. Hou die deksel op om te voorkom dat die olie spat.
  6. Onthou om die olie af te gooi nadat jy die aartappels uitgehaal het.

Marmite Potatoes

Ingredients

  • Potatoes, peeled and cut in halves or quarters
  • 2 large containers of thick cream
  • 2 – 3 tablespoons of marmite

Method

  1. Place the potatoes in a heavy tree pot.
  2. Add the cream, and let it reach boiling point.
  3. Add the Marmite as soon as it starts cooking.
  4. Let it cook until all the moisture has evaporated, and start to fry the potatoes in the remaining oil.
  5. Turn the potatoes over often so they don’t burn.
  6. Hold the lid to prevent oil from splashing.
  7. Remember to discard the oil after peeling the potatoes.

150g Biltong, finely chopped
3 tbsp Butter, melted
2 cups Cake flour…
2 tsp Baking powder
2 tbsp Sugar
2 Eggs
1 cup Milk
1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
3 tbsp Marmite
Handful of chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 190° and butter up your muffin tins.
  2. Mix the melted butter and chives together and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, add the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt and mix with a spoon.
  4. In a separate large bowl add the eggs, milk and marmite and give a light whisking, then add the butter and chive mixture, the grated cheese and chopped biltong pieces. Give it a good mix to combine.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and stir with a spoon in a folding motion until combined.
  6. Fill the muffin tins to 2/3 full and bake until golden brown (about 20 minutes).
  7. Remove them from the tins and allow to cool on a wire rack.
