Tunafrikkadelle

4 porsies

  • olie
  • 1 ui, fyngekap
  • 2,5 ml (½ t) droë pietersielie
  • 5 ml (1 t) suurlemoensap
  • 340 g (2 x 170 g-blikkies) tuna, gedreineer
  • 2 snye witbrood, sonder korsies
  • 125 ml (½ k) volroommelk
  • 1 ml knoffelsout
  • Knypie rooipeper
  • 2 eiers
  • 125 ml (½ k) koekmeel
  • Olie vir diepvetbraai

Metode

  1. Verhit olie en soteer ui en pietersielie tot ui sag is.
  2. Verwyder van hitte en roer suurlemoensap en tuna by.
  3. Week brood in melk. Roer broodmengsel by tunamengsel in braaipan en meng.
  4. Voeg knoffelsout en rooipeper by.
  5. Om in te rol Klits eiers in vlak bakkie.
  6. Gooi koekmeel in vlak bakkie.
  7. Skep teelepels tunamengsel en rol in geklitste eier en dan in koekmeel.
  8. Verhit olie tot goed warm en braai tot goudbruin.
  9. Plaas op kombuispapier om van oortollige olie ontslae te raak.
  10. Sit saam met skyfies en groen slaai voor.

Tuna Meatballs

4 portions

  • oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2.5 ml (½ t) dry parsley
  • 5 ml (1 t) lemon juice
  • 340g (2 x 170g tins) tuna, drained
  • 2 slices of white bread, without crusts
  • 125 ml (½ k) full cream milk
  • 1 ml of garlic salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 ml (½ k) cake flour
  • Oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Heat oil and sauté onion and parsley until onion is soft.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and tuna.
  3. Soak bread in milk. Stir bread mixture into tuna mixture in frying pan and mix.
  4. Add garlic salt and cayenne pepper.
  5. To roll in Beat eggs in shallow bowl.
  6. Pour cake flour into shallow bowl.
  7. Scoop teaspoons of tuna mixture and roll in beaten egg and then in cake flour.
  8. Heat oil until very hot and fry until golden brown.
  9. Place on kitchen paper to get rid of excess oil.
  10. Serve with chips and green salad.

Tuna Tartlets

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 – 20 minutes
Serves: 5

Ingredients

  • 45g Snowflake Cake Wheat Flour
  • 70g can solid tuna, drained and flaked
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, coarsely chopped
  • 100g grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 extra-large eggs
  • 375ml milk
  • 30ml chopped fresh parsley or 10 ml dried
  • 1ml salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2ml paprika for sprinkling

Method

  1. Combine tuna, hard-boiled eggs, cheese and onion and mix well.
  2. Spoon mixture into greased muffin pans, filling each half-full.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, flour, parsley and seasoning together.
  4. Pour over mixture in muffin pans.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 mins until set and golden.
  7. Serve warm.

Gebakte Tuna

  • 1 groot pak kaas en uie chips fyngedruk
  • 2 eiers
  • 2 blikkies tuna in olie waarvan die een gedreineer is
  • 1 blikkie sweetcorn
  • 2 eetlepels chutney
  • 2 eetlepels mayonaise
  • 2 eetlepels tamatiesous
  1. Meng alles saam en gooi in n oondvaste bak
  2. Gooi gerasperde kaas oor en bak vir 30 min by 180c

Translation

Baked Tuna

  • 1 large pack of cheese and onion chips, crushed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tins of tuna in oil, one of which has been drained
  • 1 can of sweetcorn
  • 2 tablespoons of chutney
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  1. Mix everything together and pour into an ovenproof bowl
  2. Pour grated cheese over and bake for 30 min at 180c

Tuna Spaghetti

  • halwe pak rou spaghetti
  • 600 ml melk
  • 1 pakkie sampioensoppoeier
  • 1 blikkie tuna, gedreineer
  • 500 ml gerasperde kaas
  1. Kook spaghetti in soutwater tot sag.
  2. Dreineer en hou warm.
  3. Berei die sous voor terwyl die spaghetti kook.
  4. Bring die melk en soppoeier tot kookpunt in ’n groot kastrol oor matige hitte en roer aanhoudend tot dit kook.
  5. Roer die gedreineerde tuna saam met 250ml van die kaas by.
  6. Voeg die sous by die spaghetti en meng.
  7. Skep dit in ‘n oondvaste bak.
  8. Sprinkel die oorblywende kaas oor.
  9. Plaas dit vir ‘n paar minute onder ‘n warm oondrooster totdat die kaas gesmelt het.

  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 500 ml grated cheese
  1. Cook spaghetti in salted water until tender.
  2. Drain and keep warm.
  3. Prepare the sauce while the spaghetti is cooking.
  4. Bring the milk and soup powder to the boil in a large saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until it boils.
  5. Stir in the drained tuna together with 250ml of the cheese.
  6. Add the sauce to the spaghetti and mix.
  7. Scoop it into an ovenproof bowl.
  8. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  9. Place it under a hot oven grill for a few minutes until the cheese has melted.

  1. Meng alles saam en bak in oond vir 15min.
  2. Haal uit oond.
  3. Gooi kaas by sit in oond.
  4. Laat kaas smelt.
  5. Haal uit en bedien.

1 Tin Tuna with Oil
1 Onion, chopped up
1 cup Grated Cheese
2 Thick Slices of Bread sliced in 3/4
Cup Milk
1 tsp Parsley
3-4 Beaten Eggs
1 Large spoon full Mayonase
Salt and Pepper
Pinch Peri=Peri or Cayan Pepper
Dash of Aromat
Dash of Tomato Sauce

Mix all ingredients together.
Pour into greased dish.
Bake at 180C for +/- 1/2 hour or until brown.
You can sprinkle extra cheese f you like.

METODE
Meng deur en skep eetlepels vol in medium warm, vlak, olie in pan.
Bak alkant bruin. Bedien met skyfies en groen erte en slaai.

Ingredients
2 5 oz. cans of tuna in water well drained
3 garlic cloves grated
1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 large egg
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons mayo
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried parsley
4 tablespoons plain breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil divided

Instructions
Start by draining canned tuna from water. I use a small colander to do that.
Next, combine it with garlic, onion, salt and pepper, lemon juice and zest, egg, breadcrumbs, mayo, 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and dried parsley. Mix well.
Combine remaining breadcrumbs and grated cheese in a shallow dish.
Scoop 1/4 cup of tuna mixture, form into a patty and lightly coat with breading mixture.
Fry cake in pan with oil, until nicely browned on each side.
Remove from pan and let rest for 5 minutes.
Serve with spinach or other greens, additional lemon wedge or even simple aioli.
Recipe Notes
To freeze : cook (or bake) and cool completely. Then arrange on a large baking sheet and
freeze for 2 hours. Next, remove from the sheet and place in a ziploc bag. Seal well by
squeezing out as much air as possible. Label the bags and place in a freezer for up to 3
months. Thaw in the fridge and reheat before serving.
